Privacy

Transparency.

Exactly what ZanonMail collects for a standard account, and what it does not.

Account identity

Required: a chosen Zanon address and authentication data (password verifier on the mail server, session cookies in this app).

Not required: real name, phone number, or a personal recovery email.

Mail operation

Messages are stored and processed on the Stalwart mail server so they can be received, sent, filtered, and searched. The website talks to that server over JMAP with your session. This app does not keep a second copy of message bodies for analytics.

Security and abuse

Limited operational metadata may be processed for security, spam prevention, abuse prevention, and reliability: hashed IPs on sensitive actions, send-rate counters, abuse reports, and staff audit events. Those records do not include mail bodies, passwords, tokens, or recovery keys.

Billing

Paid plans may involve Stripe or a crypto payment provider. That information is separate from the public mailbox identity. Payments are not anonymous.

What we do not do

No advertising profile. No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or Hotjar. Contacts stay on the account for compose. They are not sold or sent to AI services.
